The growth of XR (Extended Reality) scenarios (Augmented & Virtual Realities, Metaverse…), raises serious social and cultural issues. We aim at addressing these by thinking and promoting a common, open and sustainable XR, at a European level. To do so, the activation of an active, thinking XR community is needed. It will be done by : - Aggregating existing XR creative and activist initiatives

Description

Description

The growth of XR (Extended Reality) scenarios (Augmented & Virtual Realities, Metaverse…), raises serious social and cultural issues. We aim at addressing these by thinking and promoting a common, open and sustainable XR, at a European level. To do so, the activation of an active, thinking XR community is needed. It will be done by : - Aggregating existing XR creative and activist initiatives and communities - Capacitating cultural actors and creators towards XR as a sustainable and inclusive common good - Supporting alternative XR creation to experiment and promote new narratives and creative processes Through 4 main types of activities: - Engaging local creative communities around XR - Exploring and promoting XR as a sustainable common good - Aggregating a sustainable European XR Community - Capitalizing on the project outcomes Which will be carried out using methodologies in line with the values driven by the concept of commons (horizontality, open-sourcing, peer-to-peer learning...) The 7 members of the consortium will animate the European XR community composed of the following contributors and beneficiaries, from diverse sectors, at various levels of implication : - The cultural and creative sector - Students and academia - Economic sector - Government and policy makers - Civil society The project will produce: - An active European community of 5000+ stakeholders - Which will set the fundamentals of a common, open and sustainable XR - A creative community of 3000+ professionals who will have been trained at open, accessible and aware XR - A set of new XR creations, in line with the values fostered by the project, reaching an audience of 100 000+ Contributing to: - A general recognition of the necessity of a common, open and sustainable XR - The capacitation of CCS professionals - A better access to sustainable alternative XR scenarios for the general audience
