Description
Description | The Indian government plans to rebid around 40 GW of stalled renewable energy projects, including solar and wind capacity, which have been delayed due to the absence of power purchase agreements (PPAs). The projects are currently engaged with distribution companies as potential buyers, and no investments have been made yet. The tariff rates for solar projects range from ₹2.38 to ₹2.56 per unit, and for wind projects from ₹3.70 to ₹3.90 per unit. The Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) is finalizing guidelines for virtual power purchase agreements (PPAs) that could unlock financing for these stranded projects. |
