Reconditioning of articulated buses

The project to replace and recondition the mechanical components of 87 articulated buses extends over four years. The costs are those required to do the equivalent of three years’ work, i.e. the three years eligible for PTIF. The transmissions, radiators, motors, axles and articulation require reconditioning. This work is necessary to ensure the reliability, safety and availability of articulated buses throughout their service life. These buses travel almost 60% further than standard buses (1.1 million compared with 700,000 km) over 16 years, in particular because they are used on the longer Metrobus lines. The extension of the program until March 31, 2020, will greatly increase the number of repairs we can do, which, in our opinion, justifies the budget increase requested.
