The aim of the FC measure in South Darfur is to strengthen the economic situation and living conditions of households in the project region and to increase the resilience of the target group by diversifying sources of income, improving the infrastructure for livestock and agriculture and creating short-term employment opportunities. The aim is to strengthen peaceful coexistence between local communities, returning internally displaced persons and pastoral and agricultural population groups. In the medium term, this should reduce the effects of the ongoing conflict and lay the foundation for stable development. The international non-governmental organization (NGO) World Vision Germany is the sponsor of the project and is cooperating with World Vision Sudan in the project implementation. The project duration is 5 years. The measures include community infrastructure and training in the areas of productive rural infrastructure with a particular focus on the development of agricultural irrigation systems, value chains for agricultural products and improved transport routes (including feeder roads and bridges). The total cost of the project is EUR 11 million, of which EUR 10 million will be financed from FC funds. The NGO World Vision Germany will make its own contribution of EUR 1 million.
