Reconstruction of 20th Sideroad in Amaranth

The Project consists of rehabilitating approximately 8.0 kilometers (km) of 20th Sideroad in Amaranth, Ontario. The Project scope includes reconstructing the road base and surface using asphalt paving, as well as 5.6 km of cycling lanes. In addition, work will be done to improve the condition of 15 culverts within the Project boundary in order to ensure proper drainage of the road system. The Project aims to accommodate increased traffic volumes including those with heavier loads as the road is a major east/west arterial connector; improve safety for all users; promote active transportation through the addition of cycling lanes; improve drainage through culvert work; and increase the life of the asset by reducing the potential for asset failure and risk of service interruptions.
