Description

Description

The Project will upgrade Concession Road 5, which is located north of 25 Sideroad in Adjala-Tosorontio, Ontario. The scope of the Project includes upgrading 600 metres of road by raising the height by one metre, widening the lanes and shoulders, regrading ditches, installing guardrails and two culverts, and re-paving. In addition, two bridge structures of 9 and 4.9 metres each will be replaced, one of which will be widened to allow for two-lane traffic. The Project will result in a safer and more reliable road, which is a primary north-south rural highway, as it will be less prone to flooding. The road will be able to be used as secondary emergency response route, service interruptions and maintenance costs associated with flood-related closures will be minimized, and the asset life of the road and bridges will be extended.
