Reconstruction of a Section of King Edward Street

The project will reconstruct approximately one kilometre of King Edward Street between Puttown Road and Bishopgate Road in Brant County, Ontario. The work will involve: relocating utilities; rehabilitating the subgrade; installing two, single-lane roundabouts; constructing curbs and gutters; widening the road to accommodate a bike lane and sidewalks or a multi-use trail for pedestrians; and resurfacing the road with asphalt. The project will improve the safety and reliability of the road for drivers, cyclists and pedestrians, support better traffic flow by providing easier access to Highway 403 and the westerly bypass around Paris, facilitate active transportation, and reduce operations and maintenance costs.
