Reconstruction of Beaver Lake Road

The Project consists of reconstructing approximately 13kilometers (km) of Beaver Lake Road, located in the Municipality of Trent Lakes, Ontario. The Project scope includes widening portions of the roadway and asphalt resurfacing (or adding new gravel) to improve blind curves and sharp hills; removal of roadside hazards including trees, rock cuts and debris; correcting steep slopes and improving speed bends; and improving substandard side road entrances to the provincial park. Ditching work will also be undertaken to improve culvert function. The Project aims to improve rural quality of life and improving safety for all road users including vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists, and it responds to critical road infrastructure that is a priority for the Municipality given that this road provides the only vehicle access to the Kawartha Highlands Signature Site (KHSS) park from the west, as well as access to numerous permanent and seasonal residences. This supports and improvement and reliability of the road asset.
