Description

Description

Redesign and reconstruction of the 22 year old Abbott Crescent Stormwater Management Pond from a minor system drainage area of 21.2 hectares to increase the permanent pool from the existing 500 m3 to approximately 2,900 m3 to achieve 80% removal of total suspended solids, which will improve the water quality discharging to Ganatsekiagon Creek, a subwatershed of Duffins Creek. The erosion control volume will also be maximized from 1,200 m3 to 2,400 m3 to detain the outflow from the current 24-48 hours, to achieve the current criteria of 120 hours, as much as possible, to ensure the stability of the sensitive receiving system. The redesign and reconstruction will include full landscape restoration of the stormwater management facility with the potential inclusion of a Low Impact Development measure at the outlet of the facility if site conditions permit.
