Recovery Program Technical Assistance

The principal objective of the Recovery Program Technical Assistance Project is to provide assistance to the Government of Albania in critical areas for the resumption of sustained economic growth by supporting high priority activities under the Government's economic recovery program (ERP). The project will also, as part of a broader effort, support institution-building and policy/program formulation, facilitating efficient adoption of future assistance from the international donor community. On a lesser context the project will support elements of civil service reform and strengthening the judiciary. The project has three components: 1) The financial sector component will a) support the restructuring/divestiture of state-owned-banks, and b) strengthen banking infrastructure. 2) The public policy and economic management component, will include, public policy formulation, debt management, public administration reform, and judicial system support. 3) The project management and implementation component.
