Description
Description | New plastic bottles of milk appeared recently on the market. When their waste is mixed to those of the bottles of water, the obtained material cannot be recycled anymore. The presence of these new bottles thus threatens the sector of the recycling, very represented in the zone of the POCTEFA. The actors of the territory already notice a loss of value of the materials they recycle. The preservation and the strengthening of this sector in the POCTEFA zone supposes the creation of new outlets for recycling of these bottles. The strategy of smart specialization of the regions of the POCTEFA zone will allow to address this challenge through the REVALPET project. A network of industrial and R&D actors, on both sides of the border, will share skills around advanced materials and nanotechnologies, to develop innovative materials from new bottles of milk waste. REVALPET will go as far as manufacturing of prototype pieces and pre-industrial evaluation of their performances. We aim at fabricating marketable materials possessing high mechanical performances, which is an important innovation in the field of the recycling. By transforming a waste into a resource with innovation and added value potentialities, REVALPET will contribute to the “zero waste” objective that the regions of the POCTEFA zone gave themselves for the next decades. |
