Description

Description

The Red Deer Road and Sidewalk Rehabilitation, Pedestrian Connections and Mobility Program (the Project) includes construction and improvement of sidewalks, multi-use pathways, bike racks, bike lanes and transit stop. The Project will improve sidewalk and trail connections between areas of high pedestrian generation and will provide mobility improvements and accessibility to existing city infrastructure related to active transportation and transit. The project scope includes 68 transit stops, 5 bike lane improvements, 3.5 km of asphalt multi-use connections, and 1.9 km of concrete sidewalk connections. Additionally, the Project will create a sharper right turn bay from 59 Avenue onto 69 Street Drive that will reduce car speed and force them to yield, thus providing a safer pedestrian crossing.
