Description | Red Egret is a 300-MW/600-MWh standalone battery energy storage system (BESS) installation in Texas City, Texas. The project is under construction and aims to increase energy resilience in the ERCOT grid by reducing grid volatility and enhancing power system resiliency. It is the fourth project built for Spearmint Energy by M.A. Mortenson Co. and uses the PowerTitan platform supplied by Sungrow USA. The project is expected to be completed next year and will bring Spearmint's total operating battery capacity to more than 1.5 GWh across four projects in Texas. |
