Red River Scenic Boulevard project

The Red River Scenic Boulevard project is a large urban infrastructure plan in Hanoi covering approximately 11,418 hectares. It includes landscape boulevards, riverside parks, entertainment areas, urban redevelopment zones, technical infrastructure, and riverbed and riverbank rehabilitation works. The project is divided into 18 sub-projects under five major categories including transportation, parks, river embankment and rehabilitation, resettlement and urban redevelopment, and site clearance. The transportation component features two landscape boulevard routes along both sides of the Red River with a combined length of around 80 kilometers. The project timeline is divided into two phases: 2026-2030 for major infrastructure items and 2030-2038 for remaining components. The project affects around 200,000 residents and aims to preserve traditional craft villages and cultural areas along the river.
