The project involves the redevelopment and restoration of Old Cook County Hospital, a 345,000-square-foot Beaux Arts structure that housed Cook County Hospital from 1914 to 2002. The building is located in Chicago, in the USA, and has not been occupied since Cook County Hospital moved to a new building.The project will be delivered in two phases; the first phase will focus on the hospital’s 1914 main building. It will reopen as Hyatt House and Hyatt Place hotels delivering a combined 210 guest rooms as well as new medical offices and retail space.Phase two calls for a new building just east of the main structure. Further phases are still being finalized but are likely to include additional new buildings featuring residential, commercial, and medical research components.
