Redevelopment of Galowich Family YMCA Property

The project involves the redevelopment of the former Galowich Family YMCA property at 749 Houbolt Road in Joliet, IL. Dive Right In Scuba, Inc. is requesting a variation of use to convert the existing facility into an indoor and outdoor commercial recreation facility called The Flex. The facility will include aquatics programming using the existing indoor swimming pool, indoor basketball courts for a local youth organization, retail and training areas related to scuba instruction and aquatics programming. The site includes a 25,000-square-foot building with an indoor pool, basketball courts, fitness center, surface parking, two baseball fields, an outdoor walking track, and open grass fields. No exterior modifications are proposed at this time.
