Description

Description

The first phase of the project “Reducing Malnutrition by Improving Water and Sanitation (WuSV) in Rural Areas” aims to improve the health of Zambia’s rural population, reduce their poverty and contribute to achieving water-related sustainability goals. This is to be achieved by increasing access to hygienic drinking water and proper sanitation facilities. The target group of the project is the poor and malnourished rural population of Zambia’s Luapula Province. The second phase in question continues the activities from phase 1 where necessary and supplements them as follows: The focus of this second phase is on closing any previously unaddressed gaps in rural WuSV in Luapula and ensuring the sustainability of the (created) rural WuSV in Luapula Province. The second phase is again being implemented by UNICEF and includes a financial contribution of 6.0 million euros.
