Description

Description

This project arises from the work carried out by Referee Abroad (applicant) and many European partners, including national referees' associations, organisers of international sports events and professionals who share the love for the game and embrace strong values, which are at the basis of starting a path as match officials. The general aim of the project is to broaden the possibilities for young referees, staff members and observers to foster their personal development through precious opportunities in international football tournaments. The key objectives of this project are: 1) To enhance the personal and professional development of young referees through international experiences and tailored training opportunities; 2) To create more inclusive conditions for referees with limited economic means to participate and grow in a stimulating intercultural environment; 3) To further support the development of young talents towards becoming top referees, and aiding national associations in identifying and nurturing referee potential and learning needs; 4) To promote values of respect, fairness, team-building, equality, and inclusion through sport and refereeing. 5) To strengthen our professional collaboration with national referees’ associations and other stakeholders and evaluate potential future scale-ups. By pursuing these objectives, we foresee the following expected outcomes: A wider and more diverse network of young, skilled referees ready to officiate at national and international levels; A comprehensive support system for young referees, including mentorship, hybrid training, and exposure to international standards and approaches; Strengthened collaboration among European national referees' associations and international sports event organizers; Promotion of key sportsmanship values among the wider community through the example set by young referees.
