Refurbish/Reline Water System Water Storage Standpipe on Henry Street

The objective of this project is to prevent the cement walls of the municipal water system’s storage standpipe from deterioration and thereby extend the useful life of the standpipe. The scope of the project includes: emptying the standpipe of its water (approximately 2,200 cubic meters); sandblasting the interior (approximately 1,025 square meters); removing all the debris and cleaning the interior; recoating the interior with two coats of epoxy coating; and then refilling the standpipe with water. The desired output is to prevent water seepage though the concrete walls which would cause the walls to crack and deteriorate over time due to the fluctuating temperatures (freezing/thawing). This will extend the useful life of the standpipe and eliminate the need for costly repairs or even replacement of the standpipe.
