Description

Description

Landfill Decommissioning Project: This project is comprised of two main objectives: Engineering and Decommissioning of 4 historic cells on the lower level of the landfill by constructing a final clay cover, which includes returning 9.9 acres to native pasture land and construction of a drainage works to remediate flooding which will facilitate the decommissioning of one cell which has a portion under water. High rainfall from 2006-2011 lead to substantial flooding of the site, which prompted REACT and the Saskatchewan Watershed Authority (SWA) to take action. The construction of the drainage project will include the installation of a control structure, drainage canals, clay and topsoil replacement, contouring the drainage canals and side slopes, including erosion control - Topological Data Analysis (TDA), gravel and matting.
