Description

Description

This project involves a new 10,000 sq. ft. humane-themed community centre, centrally located on a 4.8-acre urban site on a bus route. Across from the city’s largest seniors’ complex and adjacent to current and future high density housing developments, as well as a pond with walking trails, and outdoor recreation site, it is ideally located. The dynamic space will feature a large multi-purpose area as well as volunteer training and meeting spaces to support the wide range of public activities offered by our organization. This space will also be available to other community groups, many of whom are already partners that we engage with and support to a lesser degree due to limited space. The facility’s design and programming will prioritize inclusivity, ensuring all members of the community benefit including underserved populations such as low-income families, new Canadians, seniors, those coping with difficult housing situations and others challenged to fit into the larger community.
