Vanilla Islands Organisation (VIO) is an association whose object is the tourist development of the Indian Ocean area based on the cultural identity of each of these islands. It is composed of the tourism committees of Comoros, Madagascar, Mauritius, Seychelles, Reunion and Mayotte. It places its project in a dimension of general interest and regional cooperation by valuing the assets of each of its members and by seeking to establish exchanges of information, good practices and experience between tourism stakeholders. Thus, and in this context, the VIO association will support the institutional actors of tourism in order to provide them with elements for a more effective action aimed at developing the number of tourists with a high contribution in the territories concerned, in coordination with the tourism offices in place. VIO has been implementing annual tourism cooperation programmes since 2013. In line with the 2016 program, the 2017 global project aims to increase the number of tourists and cruise passengers in the Indian Ocean, help to professionalise tourism committees and promote quality standards.
