Description | Short about the project: ”Regional Development in borderregions”/Regional utveckling i gränsland (RUiG) The project was carried through by Handelskammaren Service (Sweden) together with Rana Utviklingssellskap AS (Norway). The total budget was 270 720 €, out of which EU allocated 135 360 €. The project used 78% of the total budget. The goal of the project was to develop business-contacts and supporting trade between Sweden and Norway. Another goal was to clarify the companies need for labor and transfer the information to education providers. The project has organized trade missions, major Business MeetPoint 2009 and seminars so that companies had the opportunity to see larger markets. Both Sweden and Norway have been in a period of depression during the project, which has affected companies with restraint. This has also affected the project´s results that were aiming at more business. Still, about 100 companies and about 400 persons have participated in cross-border activities. |
