Registers, micro-data linking and MNEs in business statistics

National statistical business registers and the EuroGroups Register (EGR) should be the authoritative source for obtaining a high-quality, harmonized population for the production of national and European statistics, and countries should strive to continuously improvement of the information contained in both registers to ensure data comparability between EU members. The manual profiling of the European enterprise groups (MNEs) that have significant influence on the statistics (Top tier Groups) is the way of improvement data quality on MNEs and its legal units (LEUs). Many countries established organizes structures Large Case Units (LCU) in order to systematic data monitoring in various domains for the largest MNEs. The implementation of tasks under this project is in line with Eurostat's efforts to improve the quality of the produced statistics. Main planned activities: profiling of the 14 MNEs with GDC in Poland and 1 MNE with GDC outside EU for the reference year 2023, partnering profiling for at least 80 cases, update and extend the schedule of activities related to the functioning of the LCU, creation of selected elements of the IT tool dedicated to the LCU, develop rules for linking microdata from Structural Business Statistics with data from the EGR and the national statistical business register, including imputation and estimation of missing data.
