Work area 1 (WP1, Module 1.2) The general objective of the action is to improve the quality of the national business register, to contribute to the establishing and improvement of the EGR and via the registers to contribute to the reliable and consistent business statistics (e.g. SBS, FATS, national accounts) at the European and national level. With this action, the Top tier MNE groups with foreign GDC will be selected by adopting the coordinated approach. MNE groups for partner profiling on the structure will be chosen by working in close collaboration with the respective GDC profiling countries. On the basis of this, SURS will in this project use updated European Profiling methodology for European profiling of MNE groups that have been agreed jointly by the respective GDC profiling countries and national economic statistics domains. By doing so, SURS will acquire further knowledge and experience in profiling of large MNE groups with foreign GDC. Work area 2 (WP2): The general objective of the action is to improve the quality of the national business register, to contribute to the establishing and improvement of the EGR and via the registers to contribute to the reliable and comparable business, trade and macroeconomic statistics (e.g. SBS, FATS, national accounts) at the European and national level.With this action, the Top tier MNE groups will be continuously manually profiled, including delineation of statistical unit enterprise. The legal, organisational and economic structure of large MNE groups are analysed and entered in the business registers, focusing on the updating of the legal units data, control relationships, the MNE groups data and delineation of global and national enterprises and updating their data. On basis of this, SURS will in this project use the updated European Profiling methodology, as outlined in the European Business Profiling Manual, edition 2020.
