Description

Description

The goal of project REDSY ('Regulating the Digital Service Economy in Europe') is to incorporate two problem-based courses into the non-technical curriculum at Hamburg University of Technology in Germany, focusing on the regulation of the digital economy. Additionally, the project will facilitate international study trips to enhance interaction between students and experts in the field. The courses will specifically address EU-wide regulation of the digital economy, with an emphasis on service platforms. This subject is critically important not only in political and economic contexts but also resonates with students' experiences as gig workers or users of such platforms during the pandemic. The module will feature continuous evaluation and encompass extensive outreach activities, including participation in events and social media engagement, to involve the interested public. Moreover, the project is closely aligned with the research interests of the applicant and will contribute to the career development of junior researchers. Most significantly, REDSY aims to establish a sustainable educational program on European market regulation at an institution where regular curriculum related to European Studies is currently absent.
