The city council has passed a resolution and is preparing an ordinance to regulate materials used in kite flying, especially high-tension nylon strings that can cause serious injuries and accidents. The ordinance aims to regulate unsafe materials without banning kite flying, and includes preventive measures such as public education and monitoring by local authorities. Fines are proposed for violations, starting at P1,000 for the first offense and P5,000 for subsequent offenses.
