Description
Description | This project will include the rehabilitation of the existing Paget Municipal Drain and realignment of the existing Rolling Meadows Municipal Drain in order to alleviate flooding concerns upstream for properties located north of North Street. The project will provide a combined storm channel outlet into a common storm water drainage channel approximately 200 metres in length, in coordination with the reconstruction of North Street (Oxford County Road 20). This storm channel would allow the Town to abandon these two existing municipal drains and combine into a municipally-owned storm channel that will provide an outlet between North Street and the former Canadian Southern Railway Line. To facilitate the works, the existing 900 mm diameter Rolling Meadows Municipal Drain will be extended east from Falcon Road by installing 45 metres of 1200 mm diameter concrete storm sewer along the south side of North Street to a new common outlet location. 200 metres of the 400 mm diameter Paget Municipal Drain will be abandoned south of North Street as a result of the construction of the storm channel. A new concrete headwall will be installed at the north limit of the storm channel, immediately south of North Street, approximately 45 metres east of Falcon Road, to direct the flow from the relocated drains into the storm channel. The construction of the storm channel and the realignment of the two drains will eliminate the current flooding and erosion that occurs on adjacent lands during high intensity rainfall events by providing an unrestricted outlet for the upstream lands. |
