Description | The historic lift bridge carrying State Route 98 over the Erie Canal in the Village of Albion, Orleans County, underwent an extensive rehabilitation. The project modernized the structure, replaced the deck and portions of the truss system with high-strength galvanized steel, updated mechanical and electrical components of the lift system, rehabilitated bridge towers, installed new rails, repainted the bridge, and replaced sidewalks to meet ADA standards. The rehabilitation extended the bridge's service life by approximately 30 years and preserved its historic appearance. |
