Description | The project, carried out by AFD as delegatee of European Union funds, involves:rehabilitate the WWTP and the wastewater collection and transport network, strengthen the operational capabilities of the municipal operator (Serviço Autónomo de Saneamento da Beira - SASB), in charge of managing the city's wastewater network, carry out hygiene and sanitation awareness campaigns among the population of Beira. The Mozambican public agency responsible for managing sanitation infrastructure in urban areas (Administração de Infra-Estruturas de Água e Saneamento - AIAS, IP) will be the executing agency for the works.This project is coordinated with other ongoing and future programs in the water and sanitation sector, with the aim of strengthening the city of Beira's resilience to the effects of climate change in the years to come. |
