Description

Description

The project will rehabilitate the Lindsay Water Treatment Plant and replace watermains on Lindsay Street and King Street in Kawartha Lakes, Ontario. The work will involve installing reduction systems for chlorination by-products (trihalomethanes, haloacetic acids) at the water treatment plant, and replacing approximately 1,650 metres of cast iron watermains with wider PVC pipes. The watermain replacement will include reattaching all pipe interconnections, replacing up to seven hydrants, installing new water valves, and reinstating the affected roadway surface, curbs, signage, gutters, sidewalks, and driveways. The project will fund improvements to water treatment facilities, which will increase access to potable water by increasing the reliability and efficiency of the water treatment infrastructure in the area.
