Rehabilitation of Pelee Island Drainage Pump Station Exhaust and Fuel Systems for Storm Water Management

This rehabilitation project entails diesel fuel and engine exhaust legislative compliance upgrades at the Township of Pelee’s 3 drainage pump stations which will ensure operator, building and environmental safety during operations once completed. The diesel powered pumps require exhaust and fuel system redesign and construction to be in compliance with regulations and legislation at each of the drainage pump stations. Additionally, cement barricades will be installed at all 3 pump stations to protect fuel tanks, and cement pads and new fuel tanks installed at the West and South pumps. These 3 pump stations maintain Pelee Island’s stormwater drainage flood control system and provide storm water conveyance from residential, agricultural and commercial properties for approximately 7/8th of Pelee Island’s total lands.
