Rehabilitation of the Chemin de fer de la Gaspésie rail line between Port-Daniel-Gascons and Gaspé

The section between Port-Daniel-Gascons and Gaspé consists of 127 km of railway which is no longer in operation due to the poor condition of the infrastructure in this sector. This portion of the Chemin de fer de la Gaspésie presents significant challenges linked to geological and coastal conditions due to the risks of land movements and shore erosion. The completion of the project will allow, in this section, to rehabilitate around ten structures spread over the entire 127 km and which are badly damaged. Reinforcement work at certain sites is necessary. The movement of the railway track in certain locations is required in response, among other things, to land movements and bank erosion.
