Rehabilitation of the Weigel Stormwater Management Drain

The project will rehabilitate the Weigel drain in Woolwich, Ontario. The work will involve: replacing 11 culverts and a degrading headwall and wingwalls for the inlet structure south of Church Street West and west of Snyder Avenue South; installing erosion protection between Dunke Street and Maple Street; disassembling the flow restriction housed in the culvert just prior to discharge at Canagagigue Creek; and removing sediment from a stormwater pond. The project will reduce the potential for flooding in the Elmira area and extend the lifecycle, quality, and functioning of the drain to support more effective and safer stormwater management.
