Description

Description

This project includes the application of geopolymer mortar lining system on approximately 3 kilometers of 2.462 m diameter sanitary sewer to mitigate the current infiltration into the sewer and structurally rehabilitate the sewer. This sewer is one of the main branches of the York-Durham Sewer, which conveys sewage from Aurora, Newmarket, Markham and Richmond Hill to the Duffin Creek Water Pollution Control Plant for treatment. The current schedule for the work indicates that a reasonable construction duration with a single crew is approximately 200 m of rehabilitation per month with the current forecasted completion date of December 2018, allowing for mobilization, commissioning, testing, etc. All efforts to expedite the completion are being explored, including, but not limited to the following: multiple crews during construction, expedited procurement process, expedited design process, etc.
