Rehabilitation of Two Bridges on Kapuskasing River

The project will rehabilitate the East Bridge and West Bridge located on Government Road East on Highway 11 in Kapuskasing, Ontario. The bridge work will involve repairing and sealing expansion joints, replacing bridge bearings, waterproofing the deck, fixing damaged and cracked concrete, coating the steel girders and replacing the sidewalks. In addition, 350 metres of road before, between and after the bridges will be re-paved with new guiderails also installed along this stretch. The project will improve bridge and road safety and reliability, reduce service interruptions, lower operation and maintenance costs, extend the life of the assets, and ensure that neighbouring municipalities can continue accessing Kapuskasing for employment, education, health care and emergency services.
