Rehabilitiation of Water Treatment Plant

The project will rehabilitate and modernize a water treatment plant in Wabigoon Lake Ojibway Nation, Ontario. The work will be divided in two phases. Phase 1 will clean and disinfect the below grade reservoir, install a new SCADA unit, replace the backup power supply, add a low lift station and pumps, and install new water treatment equipment that includes filtration trains, ultraviolet reactors, filters, blowers, and pumps. Phase 2 will retrofit the plant to a two-train clarification treatment system. The project will address urgent health and safety concerns with the aging water treatment system, decrease service interruptions, and reduce or eliminate the periodic boil water advisories.
