The Ebola Support Program (ESP) responds to an emergency situation caused by the spread of the Ebola epidemic in Liberia and thus complements the fourth phase of the Reintegration and Reconstruction Program (RRP). The implementation of containment and management strategies for dealing with the epidemic is the FC module objective. This is intended to contribute to the program objective of Phase IV of the RRP, i.e. to consolidate the peace process and socio-economic reconstruction in southeastern Liberia. The project's intervention area includes the four counties of Grand Kru, Maryland, Sinoe and Rivercess in southeastern Liberia, where the resilience of the population to future epidemics is being strengthened through a medium to long-term development approach. This includes not only improving access to health infrastructure, but also promoting improved hygiene in schools and communities as well as measures in the area of food security. The project is being implemented by Deutsche Welthungerhilfe (WHH) and is thus based on the proven implementation structure of the RRP. EUR 7,000,000 is planned as an FZ grant for financing in the second phase. Welthungerhilfe is making its own contribution of EUR 210,000.
