Reinvestment in acquisition and theatrical release of non-national European films in Spain

With the support of this call we plan: i) the theatrical release of a European film in Spain totalizing around 50,200 € in P&A costs, as in this exact range of P&A costs we have achieved really good results recently with films such as Adieu les cons or Les choses qu’on dit, les choses qu’on fait; ii) the acquisition of three (3) European films to be theatrically released in Spain, totalizing around €104,000 in MGs, ranging from 60k MG for stronger titles to lower MGs for smaller films, to be executed from Berlin 2023 on, and in latter festivals such as Cannes, Locarno, Toronto, Venice or San Sebastian. Initially we plan an MG range of one title worth 60k € and a couple in the range of € 22k each. Acquisitions of these sizes in previous years have given us good results in terms of admissions and global results and we prefer to keep the same type of acquisitions for this call, as previous work has proved that we know how to make these films culturally relevant and economically profitable in our territory. The activities will involve: i) On the theatrical release and P&A side: - identification and study of target audiences; key messages to attract audiences and potential new audiences; creation of promotional materials and actions; creation of media objectives and campaigns; attending and exploiting the festival circuit; evaluation of theatrical release strategy; commercial negotiation with theatrical clients ii) On the acquisition (MG) side: -identification, screening and study of films with view to possible acquisition; commercial negotiation with producers and/or sales agents. We will contribute with our own financing in an amount of 49,500 € at least, for a total expense of 164,998.03 € including indirect costs.
