Description | A township project near Mumbai, Maharashtra, is alleged to be promoted exclusively for individuals of a particular minority religion. The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has issued a notice to the Maharashtra Chief Secretary requesting an investigation into these claims and expects an action-taken report within two weeks. The NHRC is concerned about potential violations of constitutional rights and threats to India's sovereignty, integrity, and unity if permissions were granted based on religious criteria. |
