Relining of Rajasthan feeder and Sirhind Feeder canal

Information Department of Water Resources-PB has come up with Relining of Rajasthan feeder and Sirhind Feeder canal with a ticket size of 2462.16 INR Crores. This project in Irrigation sub-sector involves The current status of the project is - and is being developed through the EPC route. Economic/Social Impact of the Project Government of India approved the project of Relining of Sirhind Feeder [RD 119700 to 447927] and relining of Rajasthan Feeder [RD 179000 to 496000] in the year 2016, to be implemented by Government of Punjab. Relining of Rajasthan Feeder envisages to save 560 cusec of water leading to stabilization/ improvement of irrigation in 98,739 ha. of area in Rajasthan. Relining of Sirhind Feeder envisages to save 256 cusec of water leading to stabilization/ improvement of irrigation in 69,096 ha. of area [20740 ha. in Rajasthan and 48356 ha. in Punjab]. Completion of relining works would address water-logging in 84800 Ha of land in Muktsar, Faridkot and Ferozpur districts in South-West Punjab. Total Cost of the Project [2022] Rs. 2462.16 crore Eligible Central Assistance Rs 1044.448 crore Central Assistance Rs. 400.478 Cr. for Rajasthan Feeder and Rs.203.65 Cr. for Sirhind Feeder till 09/2023 has been released. Physical progress- 70.00 percentage Ultimate Irrigation Potential is 167835 Ha Irrigation Potential created till September 2023 is 140246 Ha. Projected Date of Completion - June 2024.
