Relocation of Krishi Bhawan from Tadong to Namli

Information Agriculture Department, Government of Sikkim has come up with Relocation of Krishi Bhawan from Tadong to Namli with a ticket size of 184.87 INR Crores. This project in Logistics Infrastructure sub-sector involves The present infrastructure housing the departments of Agriculture, Horticulture , Animal Husbandry and Cooperation was constructed in the early eighties. Over the years, this infrastructure has become highly inadequate to accommodate the different division and the functionaries of the four departments as a result of which, additional office buildings have been taken on rent in different locations within Gangtok. This usually impacts the efficiency and functioning of the department and delivery of services to the the stake holders . The proposed project envisages to create a composite complex to house the four departments. The project will be implemented in the departments own land. The project would provide better working conditions to improve efficiency of work, easy access to the visiting stakeholders, greater coordination and consultation between officials of different sections and department and would single window solutions to the farmers of the state.state The current status of the project is - and is being developed through the PPP route.
