Description
Description | The Oberoi Group's Mumtaz Hotel project is being relocated from Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) lands to Tirupati rural due to opposition from devotees and religious leaders. The project was initially allotted 20 acres near Tirumala but will now receive 38 acres in Peruru village, Tirupati rural mandal, in exchange for the controversial site near the sacred Alipiri Srivari Padalu. The land in Peruru was originally given for a 'Temples of India' theme park and was re-allotted for the Oberoi resort in 2021. The relocation was approved by the Andhra Pradesh Cabinet to avoid privatization of TTD lands. |
