Description | The project is to install a new 250mm shut off valve to replace an old and badly corroded valve located in the Sturgeon Falls Water Plant. The current valve is in a highly corrosive environment. The new valve will be on the same line, but upstream in a clean environment. The purpose of the valve is in case an emergency shut down is required to a hydrant at the water plant. If a functional valve is not installed, a problem at the hydrant could cause a shutdown of the entire distribution system that supplies water to 8000 people. |
