The project aims to provide critical stroke care remotely, initially within Toronto and eventually extending to remote areas such as the Sault Area Hospital in Northern Ontario. The next step is to increase the distance between the neurosurgeon and the robot to more than 600 km. The team plans to apply for Health Canada approval to start clinical trials for robotic endovascular thrombectomies (EVTs) on stroke patients. |
