The Remote/Rural Upgrade Initiatives Bundle 9 (the Project) involves upgrades of remote and rural health care locations across Alberta. The project scope includes: • Security system upgrades at St. Paul and Bonnyville Healthcare Centres, including renovations and upgrades to the access control, closed circuit television (CCTV) and duress systems in the facilities, as well as upgrades to site lighting as required to deter criminal activity around the buildings; • Lab renovations at Vermillion and Crowsnest Pass Healthcare Centres, including the removal of a wall between departments and the addition of a lead wall in the exam room in the imaging space (Vermillion), the addition of a closed office space, a barrier-free washroom, and expansion to collection areas, electrical, structural, and mechanical modifications, and the installation of a new integrated system to monitor air flow to meet the Canadian Biosafety Standards and Guidelines (Crowsnest Pass); and • Replacement of the Nurse Call Systems for the Wainwright, Consort and Manville Health Care Centres.
