Description
Description | "The joint master’s degree in Renewable Energy in the Marine environment (REM++), coordinated by the University of the Basque Country (Spain) in partnership with the École Centrale de Nantes (France) the University College Cork (Ireland) and the Politecnico di Torino (Italy), will be managed by a Joint Programme Board responsible for the coordination, monitoring, evaluation, development and Quality Assurance. It fosters excellence through the high quality of its academic contents and the attraction of the best candidates worldwide through a competitive, fair and transparent application system, tailored to meet industry' needs in Offshore Renewable Energy underpinned by the direct participation, as Associate Partners, of more than 50 world-renowned companies, and research centres to boost students’ exposure to them. Running full-time over 24 months (120 ECTS), based on compulsory physical mobility of 3 semesters (90 ECTS) plus a final semester of Master thesis (30 ECTS), it will allow specialisation in: • A. ""Renewable Offshore Energy Systems Engineering"", to provide advanced assessment and optimization in the marine energy engineering processes. • B. ""Power Electronics and Control for ORE Systems"", related to the power control of marine energy systems. The EMJM degree will benefit the following target groups: • Young professionals: acquiring new state-of-the-art knowledge to improve chances on the labour market, where energy demand is continuously growing. • Academics: increasing opportunities for collaboration and exchange of good practices. • Universities: fostering international cooperation and visibility. • Companies: providing highly demanded workers, at all levels. • Society: contributing to a decarbonization scenario inside the green deal. An initial estimation of 100 students (40 Programme Countries and 60 Partner Countries) has been made from which at least 40 students will self-fund their participation, being balanced in both specializations.
