Description | This project will be the first project in New Zealand to couple wind generation integration with hydrogen production. This project uses renewable electricity created from wind generation, to power electrolysers which will separate the hydrogen and oxygen from water (a process called electrolysis). The Project will involve the development of new wind generation near the Kapuni plant to provide baseload power to the plant. The excess electricity varies depending on the wind conditions and is used to produce up to 2,000 kg/day of hydrogen from water via electrolysis. |
