Description | OPAL Fuels and Republic Services formed a joint venture to develop a renewable natural gas (RNG) facility at the Charlotte Motor Speedway Landfill in Concord, North Carolina. The facility will convert biogas from landfill waste into RNG with an initial annual design capacity of about 1.4 million MMBtu. It repurposes an existing OPAL-owned renewable electricity facility on-site and includes a new long-term gas rights agreement. Construction is underway and the facility is expected to enter service according to OPAL's RNG project timelines. |
