Project
Completed

French utility company Veolia and renewable natural gas producer Waga Energy SA inaugurated a renewable natural gas plant located at the Granges landfill site in Burgundy, France. The plant uses Waga's Wagabox technology to capture and upgrade landfill biogas generated by waste stored on site. It can treat up to 400 standard cubic feet per minute of raw gas, supplying renewable gas to over 3,000 h

Description

Description

French utility company Veolia and renewable natural gas producer Waga Energy SA inaugurated a renewable natural gas plant located at the Granges landfill site in Burgundy, France. The plant uses Waga's Wagabox technology to capture and upgrade landfill biogas generated by waste stored on site. It can treat up to 400 standard cubic feet per minute of raw gas, supplying renewable gas to over 3,000 households via the local gas grid operated by GRDF. The facility is part of the Granges waste recovery centre, processing up to 130,000 tonnes of waste, and replaces one of the site's two combined heat and power engines. This is the sixth renewable gas project implemented by Waga and Veolia in seven years, with a total capacity sufficient to meet the needs of over 35,000 households and prevent about 40,000 metric tonnes of CO2-equivalent emissions annually.
